Bob Denver's website is updated regularly and continues to provide something for everyone. In Gilligan's Gift Gallery you'll not only find personally autographed photos, but also Bob's autobiography, Gillian, Maynard & Me, and hard-to-get videos such as Rescue from Gilligan's Island, Back to the Beach (in which Bob starred with Annette, Frankie, Connie Stevens and PeeWee Herman), and High School USA, starring Michael J. Fox with special appearances by Bob, Tony Dow, Dwayne Hickman, Elinor Donahue and Angela Cartwright. |
| Have you read Ray Richmond's TV Moms: An Illustrated Guide? It features TV moms of the fifties and sixties as well as those from later decades. |
| Described by the author as "the mother of all television nostalgia books", it profiles Lucy Ricado, Donna Stone, June Cleaver, Margaret Anderson and Harriet Nelson, to name but a few, along with - wait for it! - the 1928 Porter from My Mother The Car.
But who was the best TV mom of them all? In an interview with About.com's Debi Jenkins, Ray Richmond - who by now is surely an expert - revealed that his favorite was Leave It To Beaver's June Cleaver.

| "It's no contest," he announced. "She was able to have a five-course breakfast on the table for Beaver, Wally and Ward by 7:30 a.m. and looked fresh as a daisy at that ungodly hour in her pearls and crisp housedress. She also performed the impossible feat of vacuuming the rugs in her high heels. It was enough to make a circus contortionist jealous." |

Barry Livingston - Ernie from My Three Sons - has never been far away from the small screen. He had a reoccuring role as Lex Luthor's lawyer on Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and appeared within the last couple of years on Ally McBeal, The Nanny, Sliders, Hitz and Stephen Bochco's Total Security.
Barry, who apart from his acting talents is an award-winning writer and director, recently featured in the movie Steel Sharks with Gary Busey and Billy Dee Williams, now out on video.

For music collectors and A-M fans, a 5-CD set featuring 133 Ann-Margret recordings from the early sixties has been released by German record company, Bear Family. The CDs include soundtrack recordings from State Fair, Bye Bye Birdie, The Swinger and several other A-M movies. |

A two-CD set of Elvis Presley's Louisiana Hayride performances from 1954 through 1956 is now available. Called Good Rockin Tonight: The Evolution of Elvis Presley, it contains 20 tracks cut from the radio program's original tapes. According to one reviewer: "This is no ordinary set. When Elvis sings That's All Right Mama, as a nervous kid from Memphis in 1954, you can almost hear the fear in his voice." Liner notes and photographs are apparently included with the set. |
| One of my favourite websites is The Meeker Museum, a "non-profit, non-existent organization dedicated to the pursuit of inner peace through movie stars".
This is just the place to while away an hour or so on a rainy afternoon. Rare Troy Donahue pics; beefcake shots (well, almost!) of My Three Sons hunk Don Grady; gorgeous portraits of Suzanne Pleshette and Tuesday Weld; and my own personal favourite, a studio shot of James Darren in TJ Hooker with Heather Locklear.
And did you know about the existence of a commemorative postage stamp of Diane McBain and Troy Donahue in the 1961 melodrama, Parish? Well, it's just one of the little treasures to be found at The Meeker Museum. A wedding shot of Troy and his bride, Suzanne Pleshette (their marriage lasted eight months in 1964), is also a highlight.
And picture this: Suzanne Pleshette as Maria and Troy Donahue as the ill-fated Tony in West Side Story. Apparently, they were considered for the movie version's lead roles that later went to Natalie Wood and Richard Beymer.

| Dwayne 'Dobie Gillis' Hickman is a man of many talents. Take a look at his fantabulous artwork at http://www.dwaynehickman.com
He also has some terrific (and surprising!) gift lines if you're stuck for what to give that special someone in your life.

| Some of Tuesday Weld's incredible quips were recently collected on a website for her fans. Before it disappeared, we were lucky enough to collect some of them. If you are aware of the new link for these quips, please contact us. In the meantime, here is a selection to whet your appetite:
*On self-esteem: "So you've got an ego, so what? That's okay. I got very angry today at the hairdresser, because he thought I was Sandra Dee."
|
|
*On Elvis: "He walked into a room and everything stopped. Elvis was just so physically beautiful that even if he didn't have any talent... just his face, just his presence. And he was funny, charming, and complicated, but he didn't wear it on his sleeve. You didn't see that he was complicated. You saw great needs."
*On keeping the refrigerator door open: "I like everything open. Everything. I don't like shut doors. I like to see. In the kitchen, I like to see all the spices, all the food. [...] I wasn't really aware of it until people complained. It was completely unconscious. I would hear, 'Could you please shut that door! We're gonna lose all the ice.'"
